Today I made these block men for Bea. She added the towers in their hands, explaining that they had towers because they were "too little for laptops." I guess she's right.
Today, Bea and I went to the root connection to pick basil and chard for dinner. We had a lovely time! I could not decide which photo to use for my photo of the day, so you get to see three of them.
Kelly ran a 5k today! She and Bea enjoyed the this sculpture before the race began.
Lately I have been reading only electronic library books, because we are very busy and they do not require any errands for pickup or return. But there are some books that are unavailable in this form, and that brings us to the topic of John Hodgman, whose absurdist humor I find irresistible. I was shocked and delighted to see a copy of his latest volume of COMPLETE WORLD KNOWLEDGE available on the shelf while picking up Mo Willems books with Bea, and snatched it up immediately.
Kelly made this tonight and it was so good! Cod steamed with ginger and some other yummy spices, with summer squash and a rice blend.
Kelly took this one. I wish I had been there to see it! Apparently she then put on a puppet show for them, which was met with delight and giggles. I've got a pretty great family. :)
Today Bea and I went to get felt stickers for some of the furniture in the kitchen. When we attached them to the limbs of the chairs and tables, she had the job of making sure an appropriate amount of pressure was applied post-application to properly fix the adhesive. Needless to say, Samuel wanted in on the action.
I saw this in the break room at work today. Excellent work, somebody!
We have Dad's Night Out about once a month, and tonight we basically just stuffed ourselves with nachos at the Matador. Sometimes, it's good to be a man.
