I feel that I must have some sort of countdown or count up, rather, in my mind of how many days we’ve been married because so many people were asking, “How many days till the big day?” just before our wedding. You know what? When people ask me, “how’s it going?” and I reply, “great! been married 12 days now and it’s great!” they think I’m a nut case. Well, poo on you counters of the world who are only counting for specific reasons. I didn’t care anyway and counting that much is just too much to keep track of when I’m trying to find my favorite brown Steve Madden kitten heel shoes.
At any rate it has been one sweet month (give or take) and we’ve got some photos…here they are:
First, we arrived home late Sunday night and Jonathan made us bacon waffles for breakfast on Monday (they’re a McPherson Family tradition).
Then, we opened our gifts and this took quite a while and was amazingly humbling. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us and with us and helped us every step of the way and for the lovely gifts and cards and for making me cry. We are blessed. One of our gifts was from my sister, tickets to see Ingrid Michaelson in Seattle. It was great! (Ingrid Michaelson sings the song to which we danced for our first dance at our wedding reception.)
We’ve also had our first overnight houseguest-Frankie the wonder dog! Frankie is the fun-loving dog of our friend Carrie and she was able to stay with us while Carrie was out of town. For more photos on that, please check my photo page.
All in all, we’ve had a pretty sweet time getting things organized at the house, using our new kitchen appliances and gadgets (and knives that don’t bend!). We’ll keep you posted on anything awesome that happens soon. For now, we’re working on those thank you notes. They’ve all been made, now we just need to write them and send them out. It’s oh so nice to write a thank you note when it’s to someone you love who has helped you or been there on a special day such as a wedding, isn’t it?
