Leah, I now live in a house with what will soon become a guestroom rather than a "here's all our boxes" room and you and Chris can come visit! Seriously, there are some great places to hike/snowshoe/ski really close to us!

So jealous that you guys get to see that on a regular basis. Tennessee is so bland. At least, West TN is. Congrats on the marriage!

Hi Sarah! The photos were taken with a Nikon D70s, which is a pretty nice camera. But you can get vivid colors with any camera.

If your camera has a saturation adjustment (check the manual), turn it up just a little bit; avoid in-camera settings like "Vivid," which tend to wildly oversaturate the colors. After you take the photos, use a simple photo-editing tool (I use Picasa, which is free) to deepen the colors to your liking. You can bring out a surprising amount of color with a few seconds of tweaking knobs in the editor, and you don't have to really know what you're doing.

If you're intereseted in generally learning about digital photography (composition, lighting tips, etc.), you might find the Digital Photography School Blog useful. (-:

Hi Kelly... and Jonathan whom I've never met. Congrats on the marriage and looks like you had a great time in Mexico! I love your photos! Would you be willing to give this super-amateur photographer some tips? What type of camera do you have? How do you get such vivid colors? (or is that just Mexico?) Thanks.
Enjoy the blessings of marriage!
