Being the readers and researchers we are, Jonathan and I not only have several pregnancy and parenting books that we’re reading but we receive anywhere between seven and ten emails a day from places like babycenter.com, whattoexpect.com, babyfit.com, naturalmothering.com, healthymom.com, etc. Sometimes they have great info, sometimes it’s an advert, but often they’re helpful. Today, there was an email about maternity clothing and working out. Basically, I was encouraged to wear proper maternity clothes, not just big sweats (yeah right). The best part was the suggestion to get a maternity unitard! UNITARD! If you know anything about a unitard, you know this is a bad idea. I have to go to the bathroom up to ten times a day. A unitard would not be helpful in my pursuit of an empty bladder. Or would it be worth it? Here’s a photo:

What do you think? Sassy and pregnant? Or weird. I say weird….
Oh that’s HILARIOUS Kelly! I just laughed out loud! You do not need a unatard, just some cute and comfy clothes from Motherhood Maternity!
Haha. Yes, that’s too far and quite weird. (The model doesn’t do anything for it either.)
I must admit, I am rather familiar with unitards as I wore them often for dance team in HS. But I cannot imagine; unitard + constant bladder pressure = bad news.
I’ve never been a fan of unitards. They just don’t fit me right. I think you should go for it. Get a unitard! And dance like you never danced before!
Weird. SO weird. I’m so confused. WHY would a pregnant woman want to wear that!? You are totally right about the peeing thing. The bathroom would be a nightmare. I’m sure it has caused many pregnant women to cry because they just peed themself in the stall while trying to get it off.
Um, has no one commented on the fact that the model is approaching the golden years? Why is she a pregnancy model? Perhpas the emails were crossed and this is a unitard to accentuate a maturing woman’s body
Uhm…I was thinking OLD and pregnant?? I’m not sure what “new mom” demographic they were going for with this model…but someone in marketing failed them! They should get the Spanx designers to go to work on this unitard idea…they have solutions for the “bathroom” conundrum;) hehehe
